Since the school has been open, we have achieved so much and showcased so many different performances and genres.
Notable achievements include our performances at the Royal Albert Hall and at Her Majesty’s Theatre. We have been selected to dance and perform in various professional tours such as “Annie”, “Essence of Ireland”, (three times) and “The Stars of Strictly” (twice). We were also selected to perform along world famous street dance artists in the 2014 and 2016 tours of “Breakin’ Convention”, with very close working links to the dancing hub capital of the U.K.-Saddlers Wells, London.
We regularly compete in various different dance genres. We have 1st place successes three years running at Can You Dance in the varying categories (junior, senior, costume and choreography), and have had numerous successes at both the BDO and UDO street dance competitions (qualifying for both the European and World championships). We have had 5 students successfully gain places in tap attack, with a further student who was offered a place in their adult company. Additionally, we have had another student who has spent 2 years in the Royal Ballet as a junior associate. Previously, we have had two students who have gained places with Dance East, including one scholarship.
We first showcased one of our teaching genres of “stepping” just over four years ago at the UK famous “Lifestyles Festival”, which was potentially the first showcase of this genre in the UK of its kind. To date, we are still the only teacher of stepping in our county, and possibly even further!
Every other year we have numerous students gain places for the English Youth Ballet, when they hold their bi-annual production in Norwich.
